Case Study: New Holland Knickerbocker
The Solution: To provide an outstanding entertainment experience, D16 Technologies was contracted to provide audio and video design/build services. Why Do People Attend Church?
I recently watched an interview with a secular band talking about the tour that they were preparing to embark on. The frontman for the band in talking about all of the technology that they were deploying on the tour, mentioned that the reason for the immersive sound system and the lighting system that encapsulated the arena, was to create a communal experience.
Evaluating Your Sunday Church Experience
As we prepare to reopen our doors at church a good question to ask is, Do you really know what the experience is of those who attend your services? Avoid overlooking some very important factors.
Getting A Handle On Church System Maintenance, Upgrades & Lifecycles
Do you replace production/system equipment based on it being worn out or for new features and functionality? When we get a new system or new piece of gear, often the last thing on our minds is repairs or the life cycle of the system. In my view, churches are getting better at understanding professional A/V systems. I find that in general, the market is more aware of the cost versus the expectation of the system, along with the willingness to spend the dollars to get it right (or at least as right as they can afford). I’m grateful for the improvement.
Contactless Payment
As we currently sit in what is referred to as a “shelter in place” posture, the restaurant industry has taken the brunt of the ramifications of these recommendations, mandates and government enforced policies. Just over a month ago, I enjoyed an evening out where I waited 20 minutes for a table at my favorite restaurant. The place like it always seemed to be was packed out with patrons sitting elbow to elbow as noise and laughter filled the place.
The Customer Experience In 2020
On the experience side, patrons will want and expect a great atmosphere. A big part of this atmosphere is provided by the Audio/Visual experience. From menu boards to showcasing sporting events and news TV-style displays have become a staple in the restaurant and entertainment landscape. Additionally, background sound sets the tone for the patrons’ experience. Now is the time to test and upgrade all of the Audio Visual equipment to make sure it will deliver on a “re-opening” day.
Pay at the Table – The new reality?

Thanks to tablets where you can sign your name on the screen, chip-based credit cards, and the use of PIN’s it is now easy, affordable, and efficient to use a Pay At The Table system.
